Cork leather is the most environmentally friendly vegan leather on the market. The leather is made from the bark of Cork Oaks, a tree that is native to the Mediterranean. Harvesting the cork from the trees helps stimulate regeneration which extends the life of the tree.
To produce the leather, the cork tree bark gets boiled and steamed. It is then pressed into a thin layer, which is backed with 100% cotton.
The production of cork leather is 100% free of chemicals. All dyes and adhesives used are plant and water based as well.
Cork fabric is lighter, softer and durable. It’s soft and supple just like leather, but it’s scratch proof, stain-resistant, flame-resistant and water proof.
